Our name, QPlay, has its roots in DJ culture. The “Q” is a nod to the word cue—a term used in DJing to set the precise point in a track where playback begins. This simple yet meaningful detail reflects our commitment to precision, timing, and delivering the perfect soundtrack for your event.

At the heart of QPlay Entertainment is our founder and director, Ricky, who brings over 15 years of industry experience. Ricky’s journey began in online radio, where he hosted live shows for hundreds of listeners. As his reputation grew, he transitioned into the nightclub and events scene, playing in some of Yorkshire’s most iconic venues such as Mint Club, Circle/Tokyo, and Love Apple.

Throughout his career, Ricky has supported an impressive roster of artists, including Tom Zanetti, Ko Kane, Chris Lorenzo, Notion, Royal T, So Solid Crew, Sweet Female Attitude, and many more. He was also a key figure in one of the UK’s leading Bass House event brands, Bass House Bible.

While Ricky continues to perform in nightclubs, his primary passion now lies with QPlay Entertainment. His extensive musical knowledge and ability to read a crowd ensure every performance is dynamic, engaging, and tailored to the audience. From timeless classics to modern chart-toppers, Ricky seamlessly blends genres and decades to create an atmosphere that’s uniquely yours.
